Each year, as required by the New York City Charter, all 59 NYC Community Boards submit recommendations for NYC’s capital and expense budgets for the upcoming fiscal year. Community members are invited to participate in the budget process by suggesting new city programs or capital projects.
Please note that capital projects generally have a value of $35,000 or more and have a useful life of at least 5 years. Recommendations can be made for new city services but note that requests regarding existing programs and regular city services (e.g., street signs, building inspections, parks maintenance, road repair, tree pruning) should be directed to the Community Board office as routine service delivery requests.

Recommendations from the community must be received by CB14 no later than Friday, August 30, 2024 to be considered at Community Board 14’s public hearing on community budget recommendations for fiscal year 2026. This hearing will take place on Thursday, September 5, 2024 at 6:30 PM, in person at the CB14 District Office at 810 East 16th Street. Any updates will be posted on our meeting calendar.
