The New York City Department of Sanitation announced that in observance of Thanksgiving Day, Thursday, November 27, 2025, there will be NO trash, curbside composting nor recycling collection on the holiday.
- Residents who normally receive Thursday trash or curbside composting collection may place their material at the curb Thursday evening, for collection beginning Friday.
- Residents who normally receive Thursday paper and metal/glass/plastic/carton recycling collection should hold their material for a week, and place their items out at curbside Wednesday, December 3 for pickup on Thursday, December 4.
Residents may experience collection delays, as is common after holidays.
