YMCA New Americans Initiative

New York City’s YMCA is here for all. The New Americans Initiative is a safe haven for immigrants looking for support and services. No one is turned away or asked to provide their immigration status. Classes are available for beginner and intermediate levels with flexible times in the morning, afternoon, and evening.

Registration schedule: January 5 and 6, 2026, 10AM-5PM at Flatbush YMCA, 1401 Flatbush Avenue, Brooklyn, NY 11210
Schedule of classes: January 12 to March 19, 2026

Requirements for enrollment:

• Must be at least 18 years old
• Must register and complete in-person intake and assessment at the Flatbush Y
• Classes are in person, not online
