The New York City Department of Sanitation announced that there would be notrash, curbside compost or recycling collection on Monday, February 16, 2026, inobservance of Presidents’ Day.
- Residents who normally receive Monday trash, curbside compost or recycling collection should place their material at the curb Monday evening for collection beginning Tuesday, February 17
Residents should expect collection delays, as is common after holidays and snowstorms. Your patience is appreciated while DSNY works to collect the backlog of material.
NOTE: While Thursday, February 12 is recognized by the City as Lincoln’s Birthday and typically a collection holiday, due to the recent storm, this will NOT be a holiday, and there will be regular collection that day. Residents with Thursday collection should follow their normal set-out schedule.
