This six-week program provides hands-on training in kitchen fundamentals, knife skills, baking, food safety, and sanitation. Participants also gain professional readiness skills, resume and interview prep, and support to take the NYC Food Protection Exam for lifetime certification. Graduates are connected to food industry jobs with employers such as Restaurant Associates @ Google, Eataly, Whole Foods, and Amy’s Bread. Average starting wage is $18.38/hour, with access to benefits and set schedules. Participants receive a $160 weekly stipend for five weeks, daily Metrocards, and job placement support through our employer network. Applicants must complete a short form and interview before enrollment. Available for Spanish speakers.
