From the Board Chair

Dear Community Members of Brooklyn Community Board 14,

My name is Jerrell Gray, and it is a pleasure to be of service to you as your Chair. To everyone in our district, longtime residents and newcomers, homeowners and renters, business owners and workers, students and elders, welcome.

We are fortunate to live in one of the most diverse and vibrant community districts, home to nearly 150,000 residents representing a rich variety of languages, cultures, religions, and traditions.

Our community is also one of Brooklyn’s original six towns, playing a pivotal role in the borough’s early history and continuing to serve as a vital corridor that reflects the essence of New York City life.

I am committed to fostering a board that is stable, responsive, and deeply engaged with the community. We recognize that this is a critical moment, as many residents face challenges related to climate change, housing affordability, and the rapidly evolving landscape of New York City. Our goal is to ensure that every resident, in every corner of our district, can access local government and be part of shaping a better future.

Through all the changes, what comes, what stays, and what goes,  know that we are here to serve you. Don’t hesitate to reach out, share feedback, or ask for assistance.

Take care,

Jerrell Gray
Chair
Brooklyn Community Board 14
