NYC DOT Art is seeking proposals for artwork to activate the Summer Street routes as a one-day installation throughout all five Summer Street dates. Selected artists may receive up to $20,000 to cover all expenses to design, fabricate, present the artwork including, but not limited to, costs associated with the following: labor, materials, fabrication, engineering, installation, equipment rental, storage, and transportation. Artists may consider an additive format with components created through public participation, allowing the artwork to shift, grow, and evolve throughout each event date and the event series. Call for Artists: NYC DOT Art Community Commissions RFP

NYC DOT Art has launched the Community Commissions: Artists Request for Proposals (RFP). This initiative invites artists to collaborate with community-based organizations to create temporary public art on NYC DOT infrastructure citywide. Artists can submit proposals by June 30, 2024. Selected artworks may be displayed for up to 11 months, with funding up to $20,000 available for project costs.
