NYC DOT Art released the Community Commissions: Artists Request for Proposals (RFP) today, a signature initiative in which the agency collaborates with community-based organizations to commission artists to design and install temporary public art on NYC DOT infrastructure citywide.  NYC DOT Art selected five community-based partners, through an RFP, to collaborate with NYC DOT Art throughout all project phases, including the artist selection process.

Artists are now invited to submit proposals in response to the priority site and partner list by Sunday, June 30, 2024. Site-specific artworks may remain installed for up to 11 months and selected artists are eligible to receive up to $20,000 towards direct project costs for sculptural work or two-dimensional work.

Visit the NYC DOT Art Submittable portal for more information and to apply.
