Lien Sale Is EXTENDED to June 3, 2025.

The last day to take action to remove your property from the sale is June 2, 2025

If property owners have unpaid property taxes or water/sewer charges, the lien sale allows the City of New York to sell the unpaid charges to a third party to collect on the debt. While the property is not sold, this can be the first step toward foreclosure if not addressed. Property owners at risk of being included in the upcoming lien sale have already received warning notices by mail.

Property owners may be eligible for relief programs, including the Lien Sale Easy Exit Program and Water Debt Assistance Program.

Get in-person assistance from the Department of Finance. DOF business centers are open from 8:30 a.m to 4:30 p.m., Monday to Friday. More information and a list of properties subject to the lien sale is available at DOF’s lien sale page.

Property owners can receive assistance from the DEP. Those on the lien sale list can get off the list immediately by making a minimum payment or entering into a payment agreement for as little as 0% down, but property owners must act before JUNE 2! Customers can look up their minimum payment amount online by visiting nyc.gov/dep/liensale. Property owners can log onto their My DEP Account to make a payment or get in touch with DEP’s customer service specialists by phone at 718-595-7000 or in person at a customer service office:
