The Doula Program’s mission is to minimize the isolation and loneliness of people with life-limiting illnesses. This program trains, carefully matches, and supervises Doula Volunteers who provide support to individuals in their homes, healthcare facilities, and hospitals. These volunteers build meaningful relationships that often last weeks, months, or even years. Many volunteers find their own lives enriched through these connections. The Doula Volunteer training, led by professional staff with expertise in end-of-life care, is completed over an eight-week period. Time commitment is 1-2 hours of visiting per week, with volunteers setting their own schedules.
