HERricane NYC Program for Young Women in Emergency Management

NYCEM invites high school students to apply this free summer program for women and non-binary youth ages 16–22 who are interested in emergency management and leadership. Held July 14–18, 2025, at NYCEM’s Brooklyn headquarters, the program features workshops, simulations, field trips, and mentorship. Selected participants may also join monthly “aftermath” sessions after the main program. HERricane NYC is inclusive of cisgender and transgender women and non-binary people. There is no cost to participate. Applicants must submit the required forms by June 20 and will be notified within two weeks of the deadline. Download the application for full details.
