First Course NYC trains aspiring restaurant cooks through an eight-week, full-time culinary program led by industry professionals, providing fundamental skills, a weekly MetroCard, and a $355 stipend (if eligible). Participants earn the NYC Food Protection Certificate and gain hands-on, paid training in a respected NYC restaurant kitchen, leading to full-time employment. Eligible applicants must be NYC residents, 18 or older, authorized to work in the U.S., earning no more than $50,000 annually, and willing to work full-time.
