Brooklyn residents and K–12 students are invited to submit designs for the 2026 Brooklyn Pin, a limited-edition collectible celebrating the borough’s culture and identity. All ages are welcome; minors need parental consent. The winning design will be selected by the Borough President and 2025 Brooklyn Arts Ambassador Colm Dillane of KidSuper. More information on eligibility and criteria is available on the website.

The Local Center is seeking mission-driven lighting design teams to support community organizations, including Church Flatbush Community Alliance (CFCA), in transforming their commercial corridors through creative lighting and public realm projects. In Flatbush, CFCA will activate the intersection of Church Avenue and East 18th Street with creative lighting and programming to improve safety and increase foot traffic around a major transportation hub. Other projects are located in Bed-Stuy (BK) and Tomkinsville (SI). These projects offer design teams the opportunity to contribute to meaningful neighborhood work, collaborate with community leaders, and receive a service fee.

The City of New York seeks artists interested in creating a public monument that honors the lives and legacy of the Service Members who died in action during the Global War on Terror. The memorial will also serve as a permanent declaration of “Thank you” and “Welcome Home” to our Post 9/11 Veteran community. NYC DOT Art is seeking proposals for artwork to activate the Summer Street routes as a one-day installation throughout all five Summer Street dates. Selected artists may receive up to $20,000 to cover all expenses to design, fabricate, present the artwork including, but not limited to, costs associated with the following: labor, materials, fabrication, engineering, installation, equipment rental, storage, and transportation. Artists may consider an additive format with components created through public participation, allowing the artwork to shift, grow, and evolve throughout each event date and the event series.
