The New York City Department of Sanitation announced that there would be no trash, curbside compost or recycling collection on Saturday, July 4, 2026, Independence Day.
- Residents who normally receive Saturday trash, curbside composting, or recycling collection should place their material at the curb Saturday evening for collection beginning Sunday, July 5.
- Friday, July 3 is a normal collection day; residents should follow their normal set out schedule that day.
Please note that collection delays may occur after a holiday. Please allow additional time for the backlog of material to be collected.
