Brooklyn Community Board 14 is pleased to announce that Department of Sanitation Commissioner Gregory Anderson has approved additional Sanitation collection services in portions of the district to assist residents in preparation for Passover observances, which commence at sundown on Wednesday, April 1, 2026. The plan provides for additional collection services.
REFUSE:
- For areas with regular collection on Wednesday/Saturday, there will be an extra pick up on Tuesday, March 31.
- For areas with regular collection on Monday/Thursday and Tuesday/Friday, there will be an extra pick up on Wednesday, April 1.
- All refuse including chometz MUST be placed at curbside no later than 9 AM on Wednesday, April 1.
RECYCLING:
In these special collection zones, there will also be an additional recycling collection on Wednesday, April 1, beginning at midnight. All recycling materials must be placed at curbside on the evening of Tuesday, March 31 for collection on Wednesday, April 1 from 12:00 midnight to 8:00 am.
