In 2023, the New York City Council enacted Local Law 171, mandating NYC Department of Transportation to redesign the city’s truck route network to enhance safety, visibility, traffic flow, and the overall freight roadway system. As part of the Local Law, DOT is in the process of gathering data and public feedback through the recently-launched Truck Route Network Redesign Public Feedback Portal. This portal allows the public and the freight industry to learn about the city’s truck route network and provide their input.
The public can comment and provide feedback by identifying issues and concerns with the current network through an interactive map. This feedback will guide NYC DOT on potential improvements for truck movement on city streets.
The deadline to provide public feedback has been extended to July 31, 2024.
