Upcoming Webinars on NYC’s Congestion Relief Zone Program

Starting January 5, 2025, vehicles entering Manhattan’s Congestion Relief Zone (local streets and avenues at or below 60th Street) will be charged a toll. This program is designed to reduce traffic, improve air quality, and fund better public transit.

To help the public understand how the program works, the MTA is hosting eight public webinars in December. These 60-minute sessions will explain the tolling system, including rates, discounts, exemptions, and other key details. Each webinar will feature a presentation followed by a Q&A. Two webinars will focus on specific topics: the Low Income Discount Plan and the Individual Disability Exemption Plan.

Webinar Schedule:
  • Wednesday, December 4, 3 PM – 4 PM (Individual Disability Exemption Plan)
  • Wednesday, December 4, 4 PM – 5 PM
  • Thursday, December 5, 2 PM – 3 PM (Low Income Discount Plan)
  • Friday, December 6, 12:30 PM – 1:30 PM

Key Information About Tolling:

Tolls will vary based on vehicle type, time of day, crossing credits, and payment method. For instance, passenger vehicles with E-ZPass will pay $9 during peak hours and $2.25 overnight, once daily. Discounts and exemptions may be available for eligible individuals. E-ZPass is an easy and cost-effective way to pay. Ensure your account is up to date with your license plate information to receive the proper rates and any credits.
