350 Brooklyn
Brooklyn Public Library Central Branch Info Commons, 10 Grand Army Plaza, Brooklyn

Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) are coming to your neighborhood. How will they affect your electricity bill? Your vulnerability to blackouts? Your ability to choose a heat pump for your house or a charger for your car? Your safety?

A panel of experts will include Claudia Villar-Leeman, Senior Manager at the New York Battery Storage and Energy Storage Technology Consortium; Bill Oberkehr, Program Manager for Clean Energy Siting at the New York Energy Research and Development Authority, and Michael Menser, Professor of Philosophy in Brooklyn College’s Urban Sustainability Hub.
