Community boards are composed of individuals who are passionate about their communities’ well-being. New York City residents aged 16 and older can apply to join their Brooklyn community board.
Appointed by the Brooklyn Borough President, community board members collaborate with city agencies, elected officials, and local leaders to represent their neighborhood’s perspectives and priorities. Their work spans a wide range of issues, including housing development, public transit, the city’s budget, and essential services like sanitation.
