Work with other teens and build valuable job skills as you learn about urban agriculture, science, and the environment in one of the world’s best-known public gardens!
Acceptance into GAP is through a competitive application process and requires a nine-month commitment, March–November. Apprentices earn increasing levels of compensation as they advance through the program.

Tiers
Tier 1 Grades 8–9
Assist instructors in Children’s Garden programs.
Tier 2 Grade 10
Work with the public in the Discovery Garden.
Tier 3 Grade 11
Create education stations for Garden visitors.
Tier 4 After successful completion of Tier 3
Work as paid staff in the Children’s Garden.
Applications for 2024 will be available online by mid October 2023 at bbg.org/gap and are due December 8, 2023.
