CB14's Youth Resource Fair connects Brooklyn teens with organizations and agencies offering career development, internships, educational opportunities and more.
The meeting will feature Prospect Park Alliance’s annual update on Prospect Park, a presentation from NYC SBS on programs and services, and a discussion of proposed legislation allowing community boards to opt in to an earlier Friday sanitation set-out time.
NYC DOT will present the Student Safety Project on Coney Island Avenue for M.S. 890 and P.S. 889. The committee will also hear an update on the Interborough Express (IBX) and discuss the District Needs Statement and priorities in CD14.
The meeting will include a presentation on nonprofit affordable housing development, information on tenant support and resources, and a project update on the impact of City of Yes in CB14 from a FCNY Planning Fellow.
The meeting will include a presentation on foster programs from Mercy First, along with planning for the Annual Nonprofit Roundtable.
The committee will hear a presentation on Cure Violence, the Violence Disrupter Program, and community responses to crime. The agenda will also include a report on the 70th Precinct Community Council’s Legislative Breakfast.
The committee will hear a presentation from the School Construction Authority on a capital improvement project at Erasmus High School and review the 2026 Youth Resource Fair.
The committee will receive an update from NYC DOT on the Beverley Road Bridge State of Good Repair Project and hear a presentation from Open Plans on low traffic neighborhoods. The agenda will also include a review of proposed speed limit changes on streets surrounding schools under Sammy’s Law.
Representatives from nonprofit organizations will take part in a conversation on services and resources. Open to invited nonprofit and agency staff.
The committee will conduct a performance review for the District Manager, hold an orientation for new board members, and review meeting practices and training opportunities.
