The meeting will begin with a public hearing on a Landmarks Preservation Commission application for B’ShERT Synagogue at 83 Marlborough Road. The Housing and Land Use Committee meeting will follow with overviews of land use, ULURP, zoning, zoning text amendments, and Board of Standards and Appeals applications.
The committee will hear a presentation on the reconstruction of the Ocean Avenue perimeter of Prospect Park.
The committee will review Fiscal Year 2026 requests and begin developing board priorities for the City’s capital and expense budgets for Fiscal Year 2027. The meeting will also include a City Council Land Use presentation on Charter Revision proposals.
The committee will be introduced to DI Joseph Wernersbach, Commanding Officer of the 70th Precinct, and hear a presentation from the NYC Sheriff’s Office.
The committee will hear an introduction to WholeYouNYC from Public Health Solutions, and a presentation from the Department of Health and Mental Hygiene on COVID-19 and access to vaccination.
The committee will hear an update on the Flatbush African Burial Ground Project and a presentation on the expansion of Commercial Waste Zones.
The committee will hear from the Department of Transportation on plans for the Park Circle Automated Public Toilet, receive an update from the MTA on the Interborough Express process, and an introduction from Stop the Chop NY/NJ to a proposal to ban nonessential helicopter flights over the New York City metropolitan area.
The committee will learn about parliamentary procedure from the CEC and discuss CB14 board membership and strategies for community engagement.
The committee will hear FDC on programs and services for youth and from CAMBA on fostering family acceptance for LGBTQ+ youth. The committee will also discuss the 2026 Youth Conference.
