HomeownerHelpNY is backed by the Homeowner Protection Program, a network of housing counselors and legal services providers throughout New York State that has been vetted by the Office of the Attorney General.
HomeownerHelpNY is funded by the Office of the New York State Attorney General and managed by the Center for NYC Neighborhoods, a 501 (c)(3) nonprofit organization, to assist homeowners in finding free, qualified mortgage assistance relief services from a network of trusted partners operating across the state.
Advocates are available to help with things like:
- Managing mortgage payments
- Unsustainable tax debt
- Foreclosure prevention
- Reverse mortgage foreclosures
- Scam prevention
- Senior assistance
- Direct representation in court proceedings, including settlement conferences
