South of Prospect Neighborhood Plan Workshop on September 15

The NYC Department of City Planning (DCP) is developing the South of Prospect Neighborhood Plan with input of community members and local elected officials. The planning area focuses on parts of Coney Island and McDonald Avenues and will consider housing, local businesses and economic opportunities, streets and public spaces, and other community resources.

DCP will hold an Insights & Visioning Workshop to introduce the planning process and gather community input on priorities for the area.

Tuesday, September 15, 2026
6:30–8:30 PM
P.S. 889, 21 Hinckley Place, Brooklyn, NY 11218

Residents can also complete the South of Prospect survey to share their experiences, ideas, and priorities. The survey is available in English, Spanish, Bangla, Urdu, Yiddish, and Haitian Creole.

For more information about the plan, updates, upcoming events, and ways to participate, visit the South of Prospect Neighborhood Plan webpage.

Why participate?
Community input received during the planning process will help identify priorities, challenges, and opportunities and guide the development of a shared vision for the area. This workshop is an opportunity for residents to learn about the proposal, ask questions, and share what they would like the plan to address.
