The Strengthening Communities program offers grants to community organizations for building emergency preparedness plans and enhancing local community resources. It focuses on five key areas: conducting needs assessments, creating community maps, building resource directories, developing communication strategies, and managing donations and volunteers. Funded by the City, the program provides training, coaching, and collaboration through NYC Emergency Management’s community engagement unit.
