PaintCare is the paint-industry led, nonprofit stewardship organization that operates the New York State Post Consumer Paint Collection Program.
It’s easy to recycle leftover house paint. PaintCard provides a free, beneficial service that New Yorkers are entitled to use. Recycling leftover paint will help you clear out needed storage space, steward the environment, and provide a valuable sustainable resource back to the local economy.
PaintCare provides year-round, easy to access drop-off sites for households and businesses to divert leftover paint from landfills by recycling it back into paint or other beneficial applications such as fuel and cement additives.
More than one million gallons of architectural paint products have been collected from New York households, schools, and businesses so far. There is no cost to drop off leftover paint at PaintCare’s 297 retail partners. 20 are located in Brooklyn, 19 in Queens, 11 in Manhattan, 5 in The Bronx, and 3 on Staten Island. Paint retailers are invited to partner with PaintCare to serve their community and bring potential customers to their stores. PaintCare is entirely funded by a small fee that is added to the purchase price of new paint.
The PaintCare drop off site in Brooklyn Community Board 14 is:
Corner Hardware, 2266 Nostrand Avenue, Brooklyn (718) 927-4300
The closest drop off site to the district is:

Additional drop off sites are easy to find at PaintCare.org.
New York City drop-off sites accept up to 5 gallons per person per day. We ask people to call ahead to be sure the drop off site can accept the amount and type of paint people would like to recycle. Consult www.PaintCare.org for a complete list.
PaintCare’s Large Volume Pickup program offers a free service to painting contractors, property managers, and others with large amounts of leftover architectural paint.
